Houston Wedding Photography - Holly + Nelson - Sam Houston Hotel

I knew it when I met them...These two were something special. You could see it in the way they sat together, the way they looked at each other and the smiles those little looks brought to each others' faces.

I often say that I love my job and it is not just something I say. I consider myself lucky and honored to simply attend the wedding days that I am invited to. That honor is even greater while knowing that I am trusted to capture the memories and moments of that day for those that invited me to be there.

Holly & Nelson....even for someone who has done this for as long as I have, it is rare to see the outpouring of love from two people to each other come so easily. You both have just that and it is a joy to see. Along with that love comes an outpouring of a faith stronger than is seen in most and, I'll be honest, it even brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you for trusting me with your day and thank you for all of the hospitality.

To all of your family and friends, thank you as well! I didn't feel like an outsider looking in and simply taking photos but more a part of the family for the entire day. You are all awesome and I wish you the best in your journeys home.

Most of all, Holly & Nelson, I wish you the best in everything you do in your future together. I hope you enjoy the few samples posted below....

Houston Wedding Photography - Kim + Ray - Ouisie's Table - River Oaks

Last night was an epic night; plain and simple. Every wedding is special and I have never, in all that I have attended, not loved every second of being there. Last night was special and a wedding day that I will not soon forget.

I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while. Kim and Ray are special people and were so kind from the moment we first spoke. The venue peaked my interest from the very beginning as well. I love a wedding that goes against the grain and some of my favorites are restaurant venues.

This one happened to be at Ouisie’s Table and if you haven’t been there you’re missing out. The atmosphere is just stunning and the food amazing. I couldn’t think of a better place to have your wedding (or to simply have a nice meal). Far above the beauty of the venue were the staff, however. Not a second went by that the staff were not on hand to assist with anything needed by anyone in attendance, including the vendors. To top it off, service staff were even dancing it up with the guests and ensuring that everyone had an unforgettable time. This was a pleasure to see and I am sure it did not go unnoticed by Kim & ray or any of their guests.

It seems almost a rarity to see weddings with bands en lieu of a DJ these days and let’s face it, some bands we have seen aren’t truly remembered later on. The Grooves, out of Austin, TX were the musical guests and entertainment on this night and what a choice they were! They kept the party going every second they played and did an amazing job with every chosen song. Simply stated…The Grooves ROCK and I would recommend them to everyone looking for live music.

Kim & Ray, I just want to say congratulations on your marriage and give you all of the best wishes and blessings you could hope for in your life together. Your friends were awesome, your family amazing and the two of you are simply fantastic. It was an honor to be a part of your day and I know that you both will do well in the future.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your memories and, most of all, for allowing me to be a part of your day! Enjoy your honeymoon and we’ll have these photos done before you know it!

Many thanks also to Keri Ann Reardon of makeup by Keri Ann….You couldn’t ask for a better make-up artist and HUGE Thanks to the team; Maria Carroll as second photographer and to Lawrence Moody and Rakesh Jacob for your superb videography skills. It is always a pleasure to work with all of you!

Here are a few samples from the day…

Houston Wedding Photography - Lauren + Tony

West Houston Church of Christ + Houston Racquet Club

Back in January of this year I had a simple meeting with Christie, Lauren's mom, about wedding day photography services. This quaint meeting led into one my personal favorite weddings of the year. Two engagement sessions & a bridal later we came to the big day...,

I honestly haven't spent such a relaxed day with a bride, her family and bridesmaids ever before. There were no signs of nerves anywhere...except for mom (yes Christie, you paced a bit).

The Chapel at West Houston Church of Christ was the perfect backdrop for this couple. Every seat was filled and Lauren & Tony shined with happiness in front of everyone. The beautiful service led into one of the best receptions I've seen. Once the music began playing there was not a single moment that the dance floor was not packed with their friends and family...and I mean PACKED! The upper floor of the Racquet Club was surely tested on this night and was shaking enough to almost bring on a bout of vertigo to anyone who is prone to it.

I can only say that I was honored to spend the day with you all. I remain honored that you chose me to capture the memories of your day. Lauren, Tony and your family...I wish you all the best in your future and you will remain in my thoughts and prayers for an outstanding life together.

Houston Wedding Photographer - Athena + Arther - Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral

I often speak of how I enjoy meeting couples long before their wedding date. The 'getting to know each other' part of the job is one of the most enjoyable portions. As a photographer, it is one of the most treasured parts of the job. This wedding day was different (as many often are!). Short notice and a busy couple meant a few conversations on the phone and a few emails before showing up for the first meeting on the wedding day!

The warmth and sincere generosity from the bride, her family and friends were instantly noticeable. No stress, no worries, only a smiling bride who was excited for her day.

The day began with hair and make-up, of course, and I must mention it here because the gentleman in charge was fantastic. In addition to being great at their profession, a bride needs their artist to be calming, relaxed and able to project those qualities to everyone around them.

Umar, with Beauty by Umar, was fantastic. Not only was he great at his work, but calm and extremely friendly. A relaxing environment for a bride on her day, I'm sure, is always appreciated and he did a wonderful job with Athena (Not that she needed much at all).

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral is a place to behold. You simply could not ask for a more beautiful church to have a wedding.

As the day went on it was easy to see why these two were marrying today. Wedding days are always happy days. These two, however, never stopped smiling and their smiles were contagious. Couples like Athena & Arther are what makes my job easy. How can you not enjoy capturing moments for these two!

Athena & Arther, I wish you both the absolute best in life and know that nothing but good will come for the two of you. Always keep those smiles on each other's faces and nothing can touch you! You, your family and all of your friends were simply awesome. Thank you for choosing me to capture the memories of your day!

Also, a huge thanks to Jim Stamos (an excellent videographer, should you ever need one) for the referral....You are awesome sir!
